1. There has been a fire in Chandiri 2 residential block (Block C2) on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 01.50 WIB;

2. The cause of the fire was initially suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit (short circuit).

3. The number of residents of Block C2 is 122 assisted residents; which is in 19 residential rooms with a capacity of 38 people
a. Inmates for narcotics cases: 119 people
b. Inmates in terrorist cases: 2 people
c. WBP case 338 of the Criminal Code: 1 person
d. WBP Foreign Citizens : 2 people (South Africa and Portugal)

4. Of this number, the victims affected by the incident include:
a. 41 (forty one) people died with details of 40 people being found at the location and having been evacuated by the Fire Department, SAR Team, and Tangerang Lapas Officer; and 1 (one) person died on the way to the hospital;
– 40 WBP died: narcotics case
– 1 WBP dies: terrorism case
b. 8 (eight) people were referred to Tangerang City Hospital. On the way to the hospital,;
c. 9 people suffered minor injuries who were treated at the Tangerang prison clinic
d. 64 people are temporarily placed in the Tangerang Class 1 Lapas Mosque

5. The fire has been extinguished around 03.30 WIB

6. Tangerang Class 1 Prison continues to work together and synergize with the Fire Brigade team
Tangerang City, Tangerang City Hospital Paramedics, and direct coordination with the Indonesian National Police;

7. The Police are currently investigating the crime scene (TKP);

8. The current occupants of Class 1 Tangerang prison are 2072 people, from the supposed capacity of 600 people. Excess occupancy from capacity of 250%

9. The total number of officers is 182 people, with a security guard strength of 13 people per team

10. There are 7 Residential Blocks (blocks A-G) and one Tower
