JAKARTA, Media www.rajawalisiber.com – The National Police said that the National Police’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team had received 16 body bags for the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ182 crash. Apart from that, the DVI team also received 3 bags containing properties.
“Then until 9 o’clock, the DVI team has received 16 body bags and 3 property bags,” said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono during a press conference at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Monday (11/1/2021) .
Rusdi said the postmortem team would identify the body bags. Meanwhile the antemortem team continues to collect the required data from the victims’ families.
“Of course, the future tasks of postmortem members will be to carry out the identification of the body bag, then also officers from the antemortem will continue to collect the required data from the victims’ families,” he said.
Rusdi explained that the antemortem data were obtained from general data on victims. Such as age, weight to the victim’s medical record before death.
“For antemortem data, it can be obtained from general data from victims. Such as age, weight, height, skin color. This could be part of how the DVI team will work. There is also a medical record of the victim before the victim dies, “he said.
Rusdi said the antemortem data was very helpful in the identification process. This antemortem data will then be matched with the postmortem data.
“If there is a document or certificate, there must be fingerprints from the victim, it will be used by the team to match the existing fingerprints on the antemortem with the fingerprints found for example in postmortem, it will be very helpful,” he said.
