Media www.rajawalisiber.com – Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the UN, Nathalie Broadhurst, spoke to reporters on Wednesday (16 August) on the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, a situation that has led to a dire humanitarian crisis in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

She called on Azerbaijan to “comply with its international commitments to implement the provisional measures indicated by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in its February 22nd Order. They are binding.”

Ambassador Broadhurst also said, “We demand the restoration of free movement for people, goods, and cargo throughout the Lachin corridor in both directions. We request the continuous supply of gas and electricity to the population.”

She reiterated, “It is also vital to ensure continuous access to essential services for all the population. France will intensify humanitarian support to the affected population. We have decided to make an additional contribution of 3 million euro to the humanitarian action of the ICRC.”
