Live: COVID-19: China Shares Experience With Canadian Doktors

” COVID-19: China has provided emergency assistance to over 80 countries and organizations “

China, www.rajawalisibet.com – The Chinese government has provided 83 countries and international organizations with emergency assistance to battle the novel coronavirus, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui said on Thursday.

Luo made the remarks at a press conference on China’s cooperation with the international community in fighting COVID-19.

China is working closely with the rest of the world, providing assistance and experience, said Zeng Yixin, deputy director of the National Health Commission.

The country has activity shared information about COVID-19, and enhanced the technological exchanges with international experts, Zeng noted. China also dispatched experts to other countries to help with their response, he added.

G20

As the G20 summit will be held tonight, Luo briefed China’s expectations and what proposals will be made at the conference.

The G20 summit is timely and important to mobilize forces to fight against the pandemic as it spreads throughout the world, Luo said.

The video conference, the first of its kind in G20 summit history, will also be Chinese President Xi Jinping‘s first international meeting since the outbreak, he continued.

“China hopes and believes that this meeting will send a positive message for working together to defeat COVID-19, stabilizing the economy and making a consensus,” Luo said, reaffirming China’s stance to work with other G20 members to ensure a positive and practical result.

China’s prescription

Asked by CGTN about what kind of specific experience China can share with the rest of the world, Luo said China has been fully dedicated to fight against COVID-19 and has gained valuable experiences.

On one hand, China continues to work hard to ensure the containment of the contagion at home. On the other, China has shared experiences with over 100 countries and organizations to fight against the virus, Luo noted.

“We have held nearly 20 expert video conferences with over 100 countries,” Luo detailed. “We have also sent medical teams to countries severely affected by the coronavirus.”

On February 27, China sent a medical team to Iran. China also sent medical teams to Iran, Iraq, Italy, Serbia and Cambodia.

Meanwhile, China has also actively shared a diagnosis plan with relevant countries in a timely and transparent manner, he added.

China-U.S. ties

When asked to comment on recent China-U.S. relations, Luo noted that “something happened recently.”

Some U.S. politicians have adopted measures to stigmatize China, which has damaged the cooperation between the two countries in fighting against the coronavirus, Luo stressed. “This is not the thing we wish to see.”

In terms of the origin of the virus, this is a scientific question that should be handled by scientists, he emphasized, adding China’s sacrifice bought time for an international response to the outbreak.

Maintaining sound and stable China-U.S. ties serves the interests of both sides, Luo said, urging the U.S. to work with China to manage their differences based on mutual respect and expand cooperation on the basis of mutual benefits. (Updated 15:47, 26-Mar-2020, CGTN )
