JAKARTA, Media www.rajawalisiber.com – The opening ceremony of the Faithful Heart Terate Brotherhood Pencak Silat World Championship (PSHT) which was held at the Sasana of the Pencak Silat building, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) on Friday night (28/10/2021) has become an important moment in the big day of the Youth Pledge. This was stated by the Head of the Inter-Agency Network for the Jakarta Journalists Forum (FWJ) Indonesia, Anis Sholihuddin.

 

“Pencak silat is not only a martial art, but a sport that displays the beauty of art,” said Anis at the location.

He also said that the opening of the Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) pencak silat world championship was a nation’s asset in capturing the interest of generations to develop martial arts inherited from their ancestors. “This is a national asset, if not us, then who else should preserve and introduce it to the world,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of PSHT, H. Muhammad Taufiq in his speech said that the scoring system for this world martial arts championship uses a video sent to the committee. He detailed that there were at least 10 countries and also involved 33 provinces in Indonesia in the PSHT pencak silat world championship.

Despite the COVID-19 situation, Taufiq is optimistic that the implementation will not be delayed as in previous years. “The interest in martial arts is getting more and more popular. In this world championship, we from PSHT remain enthusiastic and we hope that there will be no obstacles,” said Taufiq.

In more detail, Taufiq explained, the world championship of pencak silat brotherhood faithful to the heart is a prestigious event by competing for the RM Imam Koesoepangat trophy. “The contestants will demonstrate their martial arts to win the RM Imam Koesoepangat trophy,” he concluded.[***]
