JAKARTA Media www.rajawalisiber.com – Bareskrim Polri has officially named Ambroncius Nababan as a suspect in a case of alleged racism against former Komnas HAM Commissioner Natalius Pigai.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, revealed that the suspect was determined after the investigation of Ambroncius as a witness yesterday and five expert witnesses, including criminal and language experts.
After that, said Argo, the police immediately conducted a case title today led by Karo Wasidik Bareskrim Polri, and followed by cyber investigators, Bareskrim Polri, Propam Polri, Itwasum Polri and Divkum Polri.
“Then after the title of the case, the conclusion of the case title is to raise the status on behalf of AN to become a suspect,” said Argo during a press conference at the National Police Public Relations Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday (26/1/2021).
After being named a suspect, Argo said, the police immediately moved quickly to pick up Ambroncius Nababan. This was done to undergo examination as a suspect.
“Then earlier, after becoming a suspect, this afternoon the Cyber Crime Investigators picked up the person concerned, and at around 18.30 he was taken to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. At 19.40 WIB, we arrived at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. Then the investigator will conduct an examination of AN as a suspect, “said Argo.
For his actions, Ambroncius was suspected of violating Article 45a paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) Law Number 19 of 2016 Amendments to the ITE Law and also Article 16 in conjunction with Article 4 letter b paragraph (1) of Law Number 40 of 2008 concerning Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination and also Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
“The threat is over 5 years,” said Argo.
