Media www.rajawalisiber.com  – Join the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) for a livestream discussion on opportunities for U.S. government engagement and foreign direct investment in Mexico.

The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated a trend toward economic decoupling from China. As the United States government and business community seek to diversify supply chains away from China, nearshoring to North America presents an opportunity for the creation of resilient and competitive supply chains closer to home. There are enduring questions, however, about Mexico’s viability as a potential nearshoring partner.

This event will explore Mexican and U.S. common interest in nearshoring supply chains to North America and will assess Mexico’s ability to play a major role in nearshoring. The event will feature a panel of experts on Mexico, trade policy, and supply chains who will share their insights from a series of essays written over the course of this project.

This event was made possible through support from Chubb Ltd.
