The event targets civil society, youth, academia, and representatives from UN entities. It seeks to advocate for strong partnerships in various sectors, such as local and national government, communities, industries, civil society, and the private sectors, that are key to achieving road safety towards a sustainable future.

The discussion focuses on initiatives and policies that address the importance of creating safer roads and streets and providing sustainable, inclusive, and climate-friendly transport options.

Speakers highlight advocacy initiatives, such as the Street for life and Love 30 campaign, which advocates reducing the speed limit to 30km/h [20 mph] where people and traffic meet to make streets safer and prevent fatal road accidents. In addition, the discussion features the Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021 – 2030) which aims to improve global road safety and reduce traffic-related deaths and injuries.
