Media www.rajawalisiber.com  – The recent National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism outlines the Biden administration’s plans for addressing the worrisome rise of violence associated with this phenomenon, and much of the responsibility for implementing this agenda falls on the Department of Homeland Security and its counterterrorism teams. To discuss the advances the department has made in this regard since the start of the administration, The Washington Institute is pleased to announce a virtual Policy Forum with senior DHS official John Cohen. The discussion will emphasize expanded prevention efforts through the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships, as well as novel ways of working with nongovernmental and private-sector partners to address the online environment fostering these threats.

John D. Cohen is the Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention at DHS. During the Obama administration, he was the department’s Acting Undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis and Counterterrorism Coordinator. In addition, he has served as a direct advisor to the Secretary and led the development and implementation of several high-visibility, department-wide crime prevention, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and border/transportation security initiatives.
