Day 2

Media www.rajawalisiber.com – A global forum gathering food security leaders across government, industry, and civil society assessing food security as a global challenge and offering bold solutions to strengthen food systems, secure supply chains, and fight world hunger. This forum is co-hosted with the Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia and takes place on November 12-13 on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali.

As world leaders convene in Bali for the G20 summit, the Atlantic Council Global Food Security Forum, set for November 12 – 13, 2022 (Bali local time) at the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Resort, will take a collaborative, cross-sector approach to addressing the global food security challenges of today, and envisioning more resilient food systems and supply chains of tomorrow. Both days are open to an in-person public audience. The sessions will also be simultaneously livestreamed for a virtual audience on November 12, beginning at 12 a.m. ET and again at 7:30 p.m. ET.

By convening international, regional, and local food security leaders, including government officials, corporate and business leaders, experts, and advocates, this forum offers a prime opportunity for participants to help inform public policies, shape business practices, and frame media discourse amid G20 momentum.

Global food security sits at the nexus of the world’s most pressing challenges. As food insecurity rises – threatened by near-term shocks like the COVID-19 pandemic and war in Ukraine, and long-term risks of climate change and sustained conflict – ending world hunger will require enhanced public-private cooperation and wide-ranging innovation in agriculture, technology, finance and policy.

This forum will draw much-needed attention to this issue set by examining current deficits in the global food system, evaluating where and how global actors can improve cooperation and coordination, and applying strategic thinking to bolster food production, distribution, and access.

The 2022 Atlantic Council Global Food Security Forum is co-hosted with the Gaurav and Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia. The Atlantic Council intends for the 2022 Global Food Security Forum to be the first in an annual series of high-profile food security forums that will be hosted as official G20 sideline events alongside each summit.
