Media www.rajawalisiber.com – Press Conference by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Catherine Colonna.

Addressing the press today (18 Sep) in New York, Catherine Colonna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, said, “The challenges that should bring us together here and elsewhere are used as geopolitical arms.

” She continued, “The energy weapon, you know it, has been used, and now is the food weapon Russia exploits in a completely unscrupulous blackmail.”

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs started her visit to New York by meeting Cindy H. McCain, the World Food Program Executive Director.

Colonna announced that France would deliver grains from Nigeria and Sudan, “grains from Ukraine, grains that Russia is trying to deprive of those in need, notably, the more fragile countries.”

Colonna commented, “So, you see, there are those who destroy and threaten and those who build – and that build notably the possibility, for everybody, of feeding themselves. And France is of the latter.”

She said, “This war of aggression chosen by Russia threatens our collective security. This aggression is the negation, the violation of the most fundamental principle of the UN Chart.”

She stated, “If this aggression were to be rewarded, another aggression would occur again, there or elsewhere. Let’s not doubt it.”

Talking about the international Summit for a New Global Financing Pact held in France in June 2023, Colonna said that this week, she will call on all countries that haven’t already done it to endorse the Paris Pact for People and the Planet.

She concluded, “France gained a position in all humanitarian areas… we have every reason to be proud of what we do. We do everything we should and do it more than others.”
