President Jokowi conveys condolences for the Sriwijaya SJ182 disaster

Media www.rajawalisiber.com – The Head of State has ordered a search operation and continues to monitor its progress_ President Joko Widodo expressed his sorrow for the tragedy that befell Sriwijaya Air flight on Saturday (9/1) yesterday. 

The flight code SJ182 was originally about to depart from Jakarta to Pontianak before losing contact shortly after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta.  “I, on behalf of the government and all Indonesian people, would like to express my deep sorrow for this tragedy,” said the President in his statement on the terrace of the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Since last Saturday afternoon, the Head of State has received  report from the Minister of Transportation regarding this matter. 

The President has also ordered related parties to immediately conduct search operations. 

“Yesterday afternoon I ordered the Minister of Transportation and the Head of Basarnas (BNPP) who are assisted by the TNI and Polri to immediately conduct search and rescue operations as quickly as possible to the victims,” ​​he said. 

The Head of State ensured that his party would do its best for the search operation.  Furthermore, the President also ordered the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) to carry out an investigation regarding this accident.  Meanwhile, through uploading his personal Twitter account,

President Joko Widodo also stated that he continues to monitor the development of the search. 

The President also expressed his prayers and sympathy for his family, relatives and flight crew.
