Media www.rajawalisiber.com – Informal comments to the media by António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, after the adoption of the resolution on cross-border humanitarian assistance into Syria by the Security Council.
SG: [inaudible] asking for the renewal of cross border aid, because it is essential for the people of Idlib. It is a matter of life and death for many of them.
We asked for a renewal of one year. The Security Council approved six months. But I strongly hope that after six months it will be renewed.
Q: Mr. Secretary-General, the grain talks, there appears to be movement – a meeting tomorrow of the four parties…what can you tell us?
SG: We are working hard, indeed, but there is still a way to go. Many people are talking about it; we would prefer to try to do it.
